Typical figures
- Deposit: usually one or two months’ rent, refundable at the end.
- Agency fee: only when an agent is involved. Agree it, and who pays it, before you view.
- Water and electricity deposits: where the meters are in the landlord’s name. Prepaid electricity meters usually need none.
